Nickel-iron alloy (approx. 73% Ni, balance Fe). Fine grains after vacuum annealing. Thickness tolerance ±0.001 mm.

A transducer manufacturer used 1J27 for a magnetostrictive actuator core. The high magnetostriction (28 ppm) allowed precise displacement control with 10μm accuracy over a wide temperature range.
